Minutes for League Meeting 1^st February 2012

At Westcliff British Legion 8.00pm sharp.

Secretary cannot read minutes from last meeting ,as she has forgotten to bring them

There are two letters.

Angela Hicks,  of  The  Ekco  Roamers, has written to say that as Dolly Malone is ill, as vice captain, she will now be acting Captain. If you need to contact her, her home number is 01702510021.  Mobile number is 07784598222.   After a dispute with the chairman of The Ekco Club they now play at The Supporters Club and wish to be known as Roamers.

There was also a letter from Tricia Smith, saying that because of dispute at Ekco Club they would not be playing there either, they have moved to Ambleside, and are now known as Wanderers.

The League sent Dolly some flowers and she sent a loverly card, thanking everyone and hopes to be fit and well in the near future.

All names and monies are in for Singles and Mr and Mrs,  so draw will be done after meeting.  Linda will notify all teams via e mail ,by Friday 10^th February 2012 it will also be on our website.

Apologies to all for a  disappointing Children’s Party. We made a loss of £79, as we had to pay entertainer.  Linda has a letter confirming that we had booked the hall downstairs, so hopefully we may have a reimbursement.

It has been suggested that next year we hold the Children’s Party at The Eagle Club, so we would like to know if anyone knows of a children’s entertainer.

On a brighter note, the Christmas Draw Night was a success.  We have had a very good feed back.  Everybody seemed to enjoy the Fish & Chips,  so hopefully we can do the same this year.  We realise there maybe a new committee after the AGM, but things have to be booked early, to get dates you want. £218 more than last year was raised on Bingo and small raffle alone, the total raised was £700.

The Castle have made a very good dart venue upstairs but unfortunately some players are finding stairs difficult. Your opinions would be appreciated please.

There are still errors on cards. No date or wrong date. Scores on wrong side and no 601 result.

As both Ekco teams have changed venues, there will be no finals at Ekco,  so P&E Draper Final will now be at Supporters.   Mr& Mrs will now be at Ambleside.

At the next meeting we will require 2 months league fees.

All teams not won a cup will go in draw for Hammond Cup at next meeting.

All meetings will be held at WBL. Unless anyone knows of other suitable venues.
